Growing growing growing

The girls had their first doctors appointment this past week. And it was all good news! It had been 1 week since they were discharged from the hospital and I couldn't believe how much they've grown. They are eating and sleeping super well and the best of all - they are growing wonderfully well!

So, at three weeks...

We took some pictures of them at two weeks and had lots of fun doing it. It's definetly harder with two than it was with just Thomas... but we got some great pictures of them and some really cute/fun out takes!

And here is the good one that went straight to their birth announcement. Isn't it perfect!? Aren't THEY perfect?!

Two peas in a pod

It's been so much fun to have the girls home and to remember what it's like to have a newborn all over again (and in this case, to have TWO nb!)

I'm loving every minute that I get to spend with them, holding them, smelling them, staring at their cute faces and kissing their chubby cheeks. They are so kissable!

They are two little angels. They sleep super well, it amazes me that they will sleep through eachother crying... but I guess they are used to eachother!

They are eating well and are sticking to their schedule... The only thing is that I wish they would stretch out a little more at night... during the day, sometimes if I let them they will sleep through a feeding and and only wake up at the 4th hr instead of 3rd. I try to feed them every three hrs and even if they are sleeping they take their feeding well. But even though they do sleep at night time (unlike their older brother at their age) I so wish they would stretch out to 4 hrs! But I'm still grateful that they sleep as much as they do and that they are relly quick with their feeding which allows me to get back to sleep also very quickly! :o)

They still fit in their premie clothes, which makes me happy since we got so many cute little outfits.

My family left yesterday and I'm really missing them. Especially my mom and sister. They were such a big help and I love being with them. And being around them just makes me happy all together. I miss the craziness, the arguments, the loudness, the laughter and the joking around that comes with a big loud happy and fun family like mine. I seriously can't wait until we go back to Brazil so we can be closer to our families!

We're Home!

Ontem anoite dormimos no hospital com as meninas e hoje elas vieram pra casa!
A noite foi até que tranquila... e nem foi tão dificil. As meninas dormiram das 12:30 às 4 e depois de mamarem dormiram até as 8am! Nada mal não é mesmo?

Elas são muito boasinhas, dormem super bem e são muito tranquilinhas.

Hoje de manhã depois de todo o shpill da enfermeira e da visita do médico juntamos nossas coisas e fomos para casa! Elas ficaram lindas com os vestidinhos e as tiarinhas que fiz para elas. A Gabi ficou super quietinha no car seat, mas a Carol reclamou um pouco quando coloquei ela lá. Mas ela ficou bem rapidinho e acabou dormindo!

Acabamos levando o stroller para o quarto para ficar mais fácil de levar as duas e as coisas para o carro - não é pouca coisa esse carrinho não! Ele é enorme e foi uma aventura ficar manobrando ele pelos corredores do hospital.

Chegando em casa o Thominhas ganhou os presentinhos que as irmãsinhas deram pra ele - um Buzz Lightyear e um Woody. Ele adorou! Ficou super feliz com os presentes e ainda mais feliz de ter as irmãs em casa. Encheu elas de beijinhos e até ajudou a dar o mamasinho, ele veio sem a gente chamar, e segurou a mamadeira de cada uma por um tempinho.

Já estamos pegando o jeitinho. Estamos só nas primeiras horinhas mas tem sido tão bom te-las em casa que é impossivel reclamar de qualquer coisa. Elas mamam e dormem - não tem mistério. Hoje fiquei um tempo sozinha com os três e foi tranquilo. Elas ficaram dormindo, eu dormi enquanto os três dormiam e quando o Thominhas acordou eu fiquei brincando e pintando e brincando com ele.

Sobrevivi. :o)

Yellowstone Park

Melhor tarde do que nunca... e em termos de visitarmos o Yellowstone Park, foi por um dia que nao acabamos no "nunca". Era meio ridiculo que j'a estavamos aqui a 4 anos e nunca tinhamos ido ao Yellowstone - fica a apensa uma hora e meia daqui mas sempre acontecia alguma coisa que acabavamos nao indo.

Esse ano finalmente fizemos o passeio e valeu a pena. Fomos com minha familia e apesar de termos saido tarde, e ficado s'o umas poucas horarinhas, foi muito legal.

Saimos pouco antes da hora do almoco, paramos em West Yellowstone para almocar e depois seguimos viagem para o Old Faithful. O parque 'e muito bonito, estava tudo verdinho e conseguimos at'e ver as pontinhas do Grand Teton na ida.

 O Old Faithful 'e uns 40 minutos pra dentro do parque entao demos umas paradas no meio do caminho para tirar fotos e apreciar a paisagem.

Logo que chegamos no Old Faithful ele estava acabando de explodir... entao tivemos que esperar uma hora e pouquinho para a proxima explosao. Entao pegamos um sorvete no Visitors Center e fomos andar na trilha de geysers.

O legal foi descobrir (provavelmente) daonde que tiraram o nome Yellowstone. Acho que por causa do enxofre na agua dos geysers, as pedras em volta estao machadas de amarelo! E falando em enxofre... o cheirinho era maravilhoso, ainda mais no geysers se ficavam so soltando gas - blergh. Tinha alguns geysers na trilha de todos os tamanhos. Parece que todos explodem exporadicamente, mas o Old Faithful 'e o unico que explode "fielmente" de hora em hora ( give or take 10 minutes), e tamb'em era o maiorsao de todos.

Foi um espetaculo ver a explosao do Old Faithful. A agua sobe muito alto e 'e aquele tipo de coisa que todo mundo fica "uuuuuu" "aaaaaaa" "ooooooo"

Na volta fomos surpreendidos por um urso! Nao pertinho da gente; ele estava do outro lado do rio, mas foi incrivel ver um urso  tao perto!!! Tamb'em vimos uma familia de veadinhos e um bufalo.

Ah,  e nao posso esquecer o esquilinho que fugiu com o sorvete do meu pai.... a familia dele deve ter dado pulinhos de alegria quando ele chegou em casa!!!

Agora finalmente podemos dizer que fomo ao Yellowstone National Park e posso ir embora daqui tranquila! :o)

Matchy Matchy

It's hard getting a good picture of the girls when they are awake. But it would be a shame not get a picture of their first matching outfit! CUTE!

They had told me I could bring in my own outfits for the girls but had decided not to... convinience you know?! But then I figured... why not? Plus, I'm afraid of them growing out of these cute premie outfits (which they are close to) before getting a chance of wearing it. So today I took these pjs for them - isn't it just the cutest thing?! They looked adorable!!!

They are doing really well, they took most of their feedings today all by bottle - hurray! The Occupational Therapist has been seeing and from what I can tell, and from what we've been told, it really is helping.
It still has not sunk in that we have twins... let alone that we have three kids! And I don't think it will until we actually bring them home (which I hope is really really sooooon!!!)

I love my baby girls. Have I mentioned this? I'm seriously in love with them.

Teriaky Chicken, Snow Cones, Carroussels and Slides

Quarta fizemos um pique-nique no parque e nos divertimos bastante - o Thomas principalmente!
Pegamos Teriaky Chicken num barraquinha/trailer que tem perto do parque e levamos tudo pra comer l'a. Depois do rango, eu fui no dermatologista (ver uma alergia que me atacou depois que as meninas nasceram e nao passa) e o pessoal ficou no parque se divertindo.

Encontramos com as novas amiguinhas do Thomas, as vizinhas de cima, Kaylee e Arianne. O Thomas j'a sabe o nomes delas e adora brincar com elas, e elas sao super boazinhas e adoram brincar com o Thomas.

Thominhas andou de Carrossel umas 3 vezes.

Comeu snow cone de uva ( my personal favorite :oP ).

e brincou muito nos brinquedos e deu uma canseira no Tio David e no Vovo Paulo.

Ele chegou exausto em casa e tirou uma longa soneca -  o que foi otimo porque assim eu tambem pude tirar uma longa soneca! :o)

E viva o verao!!!

1 week old!

Minhas menininhas estão completando uma semana hoje! Nem acredito.
Elas estão bem. Progredindo cada vez mais e ficando cada vez mais lindinhas. Elas estão mamando na mamadeira super bem, ainda não mamam tudo que tem que mamar na mamadeira mas estão quase lá. Hoje elas foram colocadas num berço maior para ficarem sempre juntinhas. Sleep Over!!!

Elas são lindinhas, tão piquinininhas e super cheirosinhas. Carolsinha é calminha, Gabizinha é sapequinha e as duas são uma gracinha!

Não vejo a hora delas virem pra casa. Me corta o coração ter que deixa-las no hospital toda vez que vou lá. Mas logo logo elas estarão aqui e ai a muvuca vai começar! :o)

Tautphaus Zoo

Aproveitando as nossas babas de tempo integral ( aka UTI Neonatal), tenho procurando fazer algumas coisas com o Thomas que j'a queria fazer esse verao mas que com as meninas em casa ficaria praticamente impossivel. A primeira aventura foi ir ao Tautphaus Zoo, ele ama animais e j'a a muito tempo que queria leva-lo ao Zoologico da cidade. Entao escolhemos o pior dia - estava um calor terrivel! - e l'a fomos n'os!

Tinha um lugar com lontras, mas nao conseguimos ver nenhuma... mas o Thominhas ficou atento olhando um tempao na esperanca de ver algo interessante.

 

Ele adorou ver as tartarugas gigantes ( e poe gigante nisso!!!) ele ficou impressionado e ficava falando "nonuga! nonuga!"  que 'e como ele fala tartaruga.

Tambem bimos um Leao e ele ficou facinado. Alias, eu fiquei facinada... como eles sao grandes! Eu ja fui a um zoo, faz muito tempo, mas nao lembrava como que eles sao grandes e pomposos. Nao 'e a toa que o leao 'e o rei da floresta... eles tem uma pose e um ar de realeza que qualquer um fica com medo!

Tambem vimos flamingos e cangurus , jacar'e, macacos e ai tinha uma partisinha com animais da fazendo. Tinha uns bodes que a gente podia das comida, o Thomas nao quis nem saber de dar comida pro bicho... mas nao posso julga-lo, eu tb nao quis, eita bicho medonho!

Felizmente o zoo era pequeno e conseguimos ver todos os animais rapidinho... estava muito quente e eu como uma boa big city girl ja nao estava mais aguentando aquele cheirinho gostoso de zoologico e o calor terrivel que estava fazendo. Mas ainda assim foi muito divertido, o Thomas se divertiu muito e 'e isso que importa.

Eu adoro fazer esses programinhas com ele e ver o quanto que ele aproveita, se diverte e aprende. Foi gostoso poder ter ido com meus irmaos e minha mae... o Thomas adora a tia Bia e o Tio David e eles tornaram o dia muito mais divertido!

A post to the most amazing of all women... ;)

Well, since she is not here right now, I can login to her blog account and make a post about HER!


So... I've just wanted to say a few words about her and express my love, gratitude and admiration for ALL that she's been doing for our family... In the last four years she has been the best wife I could ask for. She has taken care of me and supported me in every thing... in all of my callings and school/work responsibilities. In the last two years, she has proven to be a wonderful mother to our little hero, who has filled our home with love and joy, and thanks to her he is a happy and healthy child. She is always so patient with him and is doing a great job to make sure that he becomes a great man some day!!!


And now, the most recent of her accomplishments: Our twin girls... If you were here with us during these last 36 weeks you surely knows how much she went through so that our girls would be sound and safe... Last week she delivered our two princesses as if she had done it a million times before… didn’t even sweat!!!


The girls are still in the hospital, and as it would be for any mother, I can only imagine how sad it is for her to have to come home every night without them. Even during times like these, the blessings of motherhood help her keep it all together and still be a loving and patient wife.


She is now a mother of three (not counting me hehe) and I am certain of her capacity to be the best mother that our children could have.

Thank you for being the best wife and mother that the kids and I could ask for!!!
