Eu não vejo a hora de ver a carinha dessas duas picorruchas e passar horas e horas tentando decidir de quem é o olho, de quem é o narizinho, de quem é a boquinha etc. Eu fico tentando imaginar e torço toda noite pra sonhar com elas...mas nada. Será que vão ser loirinhas que nem o Thomas? Cabeludinhas? Espero que sim!!!
Ainda é tudo muito surreal. Apesar de eu sentir os chutes e saber que tem duas meninotas rebolando na minha barriga, ainda é dificil acreditar. Eu olho as roupinhas, os lacinhos, as cobertinhas, tudo em dobro - mas ainda é estranho. E provavelmente vai ser assim até eu ter as duas nos meus braços, aliás, mesmo com elas no colo acho que ainda vou estar pedindo pro Johan me beliscar.
Mas até lá eu fico arrumando e rearrumando as coisinhas delas, e tentando imaginar elas nas roupinhas e como nossas vidas vão mudar quando de repente virarmos uma família de 5!
We have been following his bedtime routine as usual, and do try to put him in bed at his usual bedtime. But last night, after letting him cry and cry and cry I realized he was not going to sleep; so I just decided to let it go. We got him out of his crib, brought him to the living room, put on Finding Nemo and just let him stay there. He watched a little, then got out some toys and asked us to play with him, then brought some books for us to read and then got back on the couch, watched a little more and then fell asleep.
He is teething, and that darned left cuspid is taking his sweet time to cut through. So I'm thinking it really is just a phase that hopefully will end very soon.
But for now, I decided to just go with the flow. He can have a few late nights (especially since he ends up sleeping in until later the next day). He can hang out with us in the living room and play a little more and cuddle a lot. He can watch Finding Nemo and drink his milk while I play with his hair.
As much as it is driving me insane right now, I know I'll miss this phase. Just like I miss (sometimes) waking up at night to nurse him.
Thomas used to be a GREAT sleeper. I would put him in bed at 9:30, we would say a prayer, read a couple of books, I would kiss him good night, he would wave bye bye, I would close the door and he would sleep until 9:30 - 10:00 the next day.
Lately he's been horrible. He won't even lay down when we put him in the crib, he'll stand and try to get out. He'll cry and cry and cry and call for us, and cough (fake cough). Singing, reading, night lights, stuffed animals - nothing that used to soothe and comfort him works.
I let him cry it out in hopes he will stop. But he doesn't. I get him out and bring him to bed with me in hopes he will fall asleep. But he doesn't. I'll put on a movie in hopes he'll calm down and sleep. But he doesn't.
When he finally does fall asleep, he wakes up at around 4:30 - 5ish. Then I can't fall back asleep.
I don't know what's going on. I don't know what else to do. I know that there is something wrong, I know that something is off - my motherly instincts tell so - but I can't figure it out. I wish he could tell me.
Mal posso acreditar que já estou na reta final - terceiro e ULTIMO trimestre!!! Hoje eu tive consulta e estava tudo bem. As meninas tem crescido muito e muito rapido. Sexta retrasada elas estavam pesando 2lbs e 2lbs 4oz. Hoje elas estava pesando 2 lbs 12 oz e 2 lbs 13 oz , uma loucura não é mesmo?! Essa foto foi do ultrasom de hoje - é meio dificil de ver, mas Carol (bebe A) esta com os bracinhos apoiados na cabeça da Gabi (bebe B).
E agora?
Pra facilitar mais um pouquinho...
Não são lindas?! Já com tanto cabelinho e até lacinho!!!! :oP
E aqui vai uma foto mais recente minha (e decente tb né?! heheh) estrelando minha saia nova... era uma saia normal que eu fiz umas gambiarras, cortei uns pedacinhos aqui e ali, peguei uma camiseta que tb já nao me servia, segui esse tutorial (mais ou menos) e transformei numa saia de gravidinha! Não só ficou ótimo como tb super confortavel! Tentei fazer o mesmo com uma calca minha mas nao deu tao certo quanto a saia.
Eu também estou bem... apesar das dores e do cansaço, estou bem. O Johan tem me ajudado muito não só com as coisas da casa que já não consigo mais fazer mas também com massagens no pé, lanchinhos na cama e muitos paparicos. Esse meu maridinho vale ouro!!! Hoje comecei a medir minha barriga, não tipo o medico faz (que alias hoje na consulta deu que estou medindo 37 semanas), eu to medindo dando a volta na barriga pela cintura capiche?! Então, hoje eu medi e deu 45 in! Vamos ver daqui a duas semanas como vou estar, estou curiosa pra ver até onde vai minha barriga - literalmente! :oP
Mas por enquanto é isso ai. Logo logo revelo a todos as coisinhas do enxoval das meninas. Está praticamente pronto... faltam só alguns detalhes. E ai é só esperar.. ai ai ai

PS: QUEM votou pra final de Julho!?!?!?! Eu morro se demorar tudo isso!!!! Sem contar que hj também o medico disse que se eu chegar a 37 semanas já pode induzir.. então galera de 16 de Julho eu não passo!!! :o)
Horrible picture - but here is my belly a week ago. It has grown since then, I swear. It grows overnight as if I had dipped it in some kind of radioactive chemical or something.
My grandparents came to visit and it was wonderful to be with them. They were in the US for a month, we went to Utah and stayed with them for a while, then they came here for a week then last weekend we went down again for my cousin's wedding and got to hang out with them one last time.
I'm so glad they got to play and enjoy Thomas as much as they did. Thomas had a blast with them. My grandma kept saying how she felt like she was 40 when she was with Thomas, but then at night as soon as she got to the hotel, she felt like she was 80. My grandma also helped me tons with getting things ready for the girls. We washed ALL of their clothes,blankets and so one and got everything else organized. My grandma is the most organized person I have ever met, I seriously hope to be just like her when I grow up! It was really hard to see them go, but I'm excited for the next time they come: April 2011 - They will be here for Johan's graduation and the girls will be 9 months - a really fun age, we'll all have a blast together, it's going to be a really fun and exciting time.
Anyway... I've been really tired lately. I guess I'm officially in the third trimester now and I've been feeling it. I'm big (surprise surprise) and extremely tired. I seriously could use at least two more naps during the day. Though I'm still a little scared and oblivious as to what it will be like to have NB twins to take care of, I'm ready for them to come, but I still want them to wait a little longer so they come fully baked. :oP It's an interesting feeling - seeing how big I am and feeling they way I have been and comparing it to how it was with Thomas, makes me want to have these babies now, but then I remember..."you're just 28 wks along darling... so sit back and enjoy the at least 8 more weeks you're got ahead of ya!"
I really hope it's just 8 more weeks... or less maybe... I won't complaint...I just want to hold these babies, dress them all cute, smell them and kiss them non stop! Two little bitty babies all for me - I can barely wait!
And here is a cute picture of Thomas taken exactly a year ago. Wasn't he just the chubbiest and cutest little bug?! And he had no teeth back then either, and now he has all 4 incisors top and bottom, his premolars top and bottom and as of this week both bottom cuspids! Some one make him stop growing!
Aqui vai uma espiadinha nas coisas pro quartinha das meninas. Essa semana terminei os crib bumpers, as cobertinhas e coerinhos, alguns paninhos de boca, e outras coisinhas.
At'e me aventurei e fiz uma capa para o boppy pillow - com zipper e tudo! Enquanto minha av'o estava aqui tamb'em arrumamos o armario delas e lavamos todas as roupinhas.
Os proximos projetos na minha lista agora sao: a cortina, o mobile, e mais alguns vestidinhos e roupinhas que quero fazer. E claro que nao posso esquecer o mar de presilinhas que tb ja fiz. Tenho tido muito insonia, entao quando nao consigo dormir, so fica assistindo um programa e fazendo presilinhas pras meninas...
Last week, while in Utah, we FINALLY took family pictures - and they turned out amazing!! They are seriously beautiful. I've already printed a bunch and filled out living room wall with them. I don't get tired of looking at them... I love how they really portray our family - crazy and wild and happy. And good looking of course!
Thomas didn't stop for one second. Every picture of him, he's moving, walking, trying to get away or being silly - just as he normally is. I love him.
He still loves me... despite my ginormous belly. And I love him for being the best ever.
Seriously cannot wait until the girls are here and we have two other little cuties in our pictures! Oh and here is my living room. Totally cute and full of pictures! :o)
Thomas completou 18 meses esse mes e cada dia que passa ele esta menos bebesinho e mais menininho.
Ele 'e um sapequinha de marca maior. Nao para nem um segundo e vive inventando moda. A ultima dele 'e subir na cadeira. Ele 'e super rapido tambem e se eu nao estou prestando atencao ele nao demora muito e sobe na mesa. Por causa disso comecei a colocar ele pra comer na mesa ao inves de na cadeirinha alta. Ele adora! Ainda mais quando sentamos todos juntos pra almocar/jantar, ele fica super feliz com o placemat do Scooby-doo e s'o quer saber de comer sozinho.
As brincadeiras preferidas do Thomas sao pintar e dancar/cantar. Ele nao pode ver um lapiz jogado que ja procurando papel. Ele tambem adora cantar e dancar e gosta mais ainda quando a gente danca com ele. Ele tem um pianinho de brinquedo e eu acho uma graca quando ele senta pra tocar e ai canta junto, ou as vezes ele so anda pela casa cantando qualquer coisa.
O vocabulario do Thomas 'e impressionante. Eu ja perdi a conta de quantas e quais palavras ele j'a sabe falar. Ele fala tudo, ja junta duas palavras e aprende novas palavras muito rapido. Basta ensinar uma vez, que ele pega e sai falando (e nao esquece!).
Algumas palavras novas: pedra, desce, see ya, titia, tio, filme, bidu (scooby-doo), cococo (cocorico), sapo, casaco, mingau, sabao, cookie, acao (oracao) e Thomas.
Ele aprendeu a falar o nome dele direitinho e parece ja saber que Thomas 'e nome dele. Quando perguntamos cade o Thomas, ele aponta pra ele mesmo e diz "acho Thomas" ou "aqui Thomas".
Como ja disse ele anda extremamente sapeca. Ja sabe abrir as portas daqui de casa, entao sempre tenho que deixa-las trancadas. Ele tamb'em save abrir a porta da frente e vive querendo fugir pra "binca fola" ou "passear".

Mas apesar das travessuras e sapequices, ele continua um menininho super alegre e amoroso. Adora dar beijinhos e abracos e vive dando beijinhos na minha barriga.
Eu olho pra ele e nao consigo acreditar no quanto que ele j'a cresceu e aprendeu. Realmente o tempo passa muito rapido... e as vezes sinto uma falta danada daquele bebesinho pequenininho que cabia no meu colo. Mas esse 'e uma fase muito divertida que eu estou adorando. Adoro ensinar as coisas pra ele e ver como ele aprende rapido, adoro poder conversar (mais ou menos) com ele e adoro brincar com ele.
And could I just brag a little and say how proud of myself I am?! I mean really.... is it awesome or is it awesome?! That blanket that I had done turned into a cover for his changing pad and will one day turn into a sham. I decided to make a duvet cover instead and bought a crib/toddler duvet at ikea. SOOOOO much better! Don't you love the stars? I do... they make me happy!
Ok...so maybe I'm not REALLY done because I still have to hang the star lamp which will look something like this once it's up. Cute hum?!
But the blocks totally make up for it. One has numbers, one has all the vowels, and the third spells Thomas.
So now I am done and I have officially started working on the girl's room. I couldn't even get my ideas straight and do anything for them before I had Thomas' room done. But now it's done. And guess what? I've already made the girls some blankets, burp clothes and am even working on a dress... we'll see how that works out!
Thanks to my wonderful friends, the girls finally have clothes to wear!!! :o)
Saturday was my baby shower, organized by Jenny and full of cute little details. We had milk and cookies and lots of fun games and even more talking and catching up.
There was an absurd amount of delicious cookies to eat. Chocolate chips, sugar, pirouettes, peanut butter and so many others that it's even hard to remember. And of course, MILK! White and chocolate. And the favors were actually white paper bag (like brown bags for lunches but in white) for people to take some cookies home. Purty clever eh?
There was so much pink and turquoise and grey and little touches of birdies everywhere. My favorite was how Jenny used the two outfits as part of the decoration. So fitting! :o)
It was really really fun, I trully loved it all, from the delicious cookies, to the cute decor, to the lovely gifts!
And even though it was pink and girly things all day long, Thomas was a trooper and had lots of fun as well...especially with the balloons!
